π Empowering our community with life-saving skills!
π During my EMT-B recertification, I learned that bystander CPR is less common in Black and Hispanic communities due to systemic inequities, geographic barriers, and other factors.
ππ½To help address this, I’ve been sharing information about Boston EMS’s hands-only CPR and Stop the Bleed π©Έ training. Thanks to Captain Chu, Tag Association, and La Sala in Roxbury is hosting a free event. Details coming soon!
π Why is this important? Starting CPR within the first 10 minutes of cardiac arrest can double or triple survival chances and protect brain function. Uncontrolled bleeding is a major cause of preventable deaths. Learning how to stop bleeding can significantly improve the chances of survival in emergency situations.
π€π½I will continue to be a strong advocate for health equity, with a particular focus on underserved and underrepresented communities. I will achieve this through free health and fitness community events and collaborations with other non-profits that share my mission.
ππ½ Let’s make a difference! Learn CPR, Stop the Bleed, and encourage your community to do the same. Your hands can be a lifeline.
