Self-Care and Pay It Forward: A Message To The Next Generation 🎓
✨Today, I had the honor of sharing my career journey with a business class of freshmen to senior students at Malden High School. I shared how my previous jobs, including volunteerism—from being a dishwasher to an EMT-B, owner of Fitness Foundry, and volunteering at local food pantries and in Ukraine 🇺🇦 to aid humanitarian efforts—contributed to my professional development, personal growth, and becoming a business owner.
📌More importantly, to break the stigma of mental illness, I shared that I have had clinical depression since I was an adolescent. Once I sought and accepted help, success was no longer based on a financial goal, and my quality of life improved dramatically. Since it is a business class, we made a deal that if they are struggling with mental health, they will ask for help. 🤝🏽
📚Lastly, I shared that my continued success is based on having a mentor, continuing my education, and paying it forward. I wish all the amazing students success in all their endeavors. Anything is possible. ✨
