We recently kicked off our Resilience in Motion (RIM) preview session at the Wakefield Council on Aging in partnership with Mystic Valley Aging Services!
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to instruct this class and work alongside such dedicated community partners. Designed specifically for family caregivers and their loved ones living with dementia or Alzheimer’s, this introductory session gave participants a first-hand look at how tailored functional movement can boost energy, improve physical capability, and foster joyful connection.
Supported by dementia-trained staff, our preview covered:
-
Functional Mobility & Strength: Unilateral movements to address muscle imbalances, enhance physical independence, and support motor skills.
-
Balance & Agility: Practical drills engineered to build confidence, stability, and everyday spatial awareness.
-
Interactive Partner Exercises: Group and partner movements that emphasize fun, camaraderie, and meaningful interaction—everyone left the room energized and smiling!
If you were unable to make it to the intro class, you can still join us for the full upcoming 6-week series!
